I LOVE TO DOODLE

I love to draw doodles, as I call them, which is a drawing consisting of a lot of small drawings, where one can go on discovery inside the drawing.

I don’t plan where each drawing goes upfront, I just start with one and see where the next one takes me.

I find it quite fun to do, and when I see others making similar drawings, I always spend a long time looking at them, and love that I can continue to find new things.

This blue butterfly drawing I made for a dear friends 60th birthday, and it consist of 60 different things from her life.

CORONA DOODLE

During the initial coronavirus lockdown, I embarked on a personal project to draw 100 things that bring me joy. This endeavor was a conscious effort to shift my focus away from the anxieties and uncertainties of the pandemic. By immersing myself in capturing moments of happiness, I found a way to stay positive and uplifted during a challenging time.

In 2021, my drawing were featured in the Danish newspaper ‘Politiken’, where readers were encouraged to cut them out and color them.

I hope this brought joy to others and helped them focus on what makes them happy as well.

AARHUS DOODLE

This doodle consist of many small drawings from Aarhus, like certain buildings, historic moments and things that Aarhus are known for. Did you for example know, that a meteor fell in Risskov in 1951, that the heart valve was invented in Aarhus or that the music magazine Gaffa originated in Aarhus?

Or did you know that once in the 1970s a grumpy baboon lived under the KFC in Nørre allé, that there was a ZOO next to Tivoli Friheden which closed in 1960, or that the 'Atomkraft No Thanks' sign was drawn in Aarhus in 1975?

Did you know that there were 9,437 brains in the basement of the psychiatric hospital in Risskov or that the stump mill in the Botanical Garden dates back to 1792?

Did you also know that it is said that there is a ghost dog in Moesgaard forest - which you can hear howling sometimes at night...? That in 1948 they tried to brand the city as: "Århus: Holiday Headquarters", but that it is always 'The City of Smiles' that has stuck :) The many seagulls in the city have had to be shot since 2017, and the racetrack has existed since 1924 and is still in use.

Many may also not know that the delicious magnum ice cream with 25g. chocolate was invented in Aarhus at the former Frisko factory, or that the Big Ben caramels are also from Aarhus.

LETTER DOODLES

I’m drawing letters that consist of things that start with the same letter (in Danish). Each letter consist of 28 drawings.

The letters are sold as individual posters on the online posterstore Livston Copenhagen (www.livston.dk)

I dream of making a coloring book for children that can support them in their learning, and have so far drawn my way through half of the alphabet 😊

  • A as avacado

  • B as bear

  • C as Circus
