Croquis drawing
For over five years, I have attended croquis drawing sessions under the guidance of artist Adam Gabriel. Through his teaching, I learned to discover and trust my own drawing style, embracing the freedom to experiment rather than fearing mistakes or being overly focused on drawing "correctly."
Croquis drawing is an incredible way to truly observe what you are drawing, allowing you to capture not just what you see, but also what you sense.
I practiced drawing intuitively, letting go of my thoughts and control, and allowing my hands to move freely. The sessions involved drawing croquis sketches with time limits ranging from 10 seconds to 3 minutes, never longer.
This approach has taught me an incredible amount about being relaxed while drawing, enjoying the process, and most importantly, not being afraid to make mistakes, but rather to make plenty and learn from them.
Below is a few examples of the thousands of drawings I made during this time.
